Delta

Delta subcontracted the job out and gave me bad info on how to pack and the delivery time. Goods sat in storage in NJ for two weeks. Picked Delta based on BBB & DOT ratings. Could have gotten job done for $400 less by ignoring these and contracting directly.

Response from Delta Van Lines

Here at Delta Van Lines, we strive to ensure all services provided are verbally explained and sent to our customers in writing in the form of an estimate. The estimate details all charges and services as well as the cost associated. Estimates are sent out prior to reserving the date.

As per our estimate and confirmation email, items must be properly packed in order to be transported. The estimate for his shipment to be transported to New Mexico was a discounted price of $1,395. The additional charge of $107 was for packing supplies used to secure the shipment. As per our estimate and confirmation, the delivery timeframe to the south western region is seven to 14 business days from the first available date to accept delivery. The delivery time frame was then confirmed by the dispatcher.

On the day of the move, this was again explained to the customer. Regardless of these facts, Delta Van Lines apologizes for any inconvenience that the aforementioned events may have created.

Book early, wrap glass very well, and box everything yourself beforehand to avoid high last minute prices when they help you. Still, I give this company high marks on the move itself, the price aside.
