Moving Experience

The company was terrible at returning calls or getting answers. I was sent a final quote and still have that quote via e-mail and they had a different quote for me, said that I never received it, and that it wasn't in my file.

However, I still have the paper and the e-mail and will continue to save it, just in case they decide to return my phone calls. They assured me of the date of my arrivals, even though I knew there was a window. I still expected my items to arrive on a certain day because my agent said "I guarantee you they will be."

The driver told me my items would arrive on Wednesday instead of the expected Monday. When the driver departed my house, he said tell your wife I will see her on Monday.... so I had to in a hotel an extra night just in case. But never heard from them. It was just a horrible experience, I took the first quote and cancelled my other appointments which I regret. I do not recommend O'Briens.

Response from O'Brien's-Glose Moving & Storage

This is to respond to the complaint of Melinda Francis for her move to Florida. Her original estimate did not include the insurance that she purchased later. The cost of her insurance was $369, which is the difference between her original estimate and her final price. The insurance was an option that she chose to add.

Regarding her dates, originally we (O’Brien’s Moving and Storage) were scheduled to move her on one of our own trucks. Her shipment was to go with another load but that family had to change their move dates. The driver refused to take Melinda’s shipment separately, as there wasn’t enough revenue to take the shipment to Florida by itself.

We cannot force an owner operator to take the shipment due to this change; her shipment arrived Tuesday, instead of Monday. However, Tuesday through Thursday was the required delivery spread that we had to get it there by.

We also gave her boxes and packing paper for free, as well as free delivery of them. There was no damage on her move. We do apologize for the shipment arriving one day later than what was originally planned. I also apologize for any inconvenience that her delayed delivery might have caused.
