Sweet Experience Turns Sour

The three man moving crew showed up on time and were great. The move itself went incredibly smooth and I had no issues with the quality of work or the final price. The problems arose when I started noticing items that had not made it off the truck at the new location. It turned out there were three art pieces that were separately wrapped and packed that were simply not there. being a Saturday, I called and left a message for the mover as I had his personal cell phone. He acknowledge that he had left the items on the truck and that he would drop them back off that day or Sunday at the latest. i was still pretty happy. however, Sunday and Monday came and went with no call from anyone. i called the main office and was assured a manager would call me back that day...Another two days passed with no response. I finally followed up again and refused to leave a message until someone spoke with me and let me know where my missing items were. At that point a "manager" go on the phone and told me that she had no idea what I was talking about and that I was welcome to file a claim. I tried to inform her that a claim which reimburses at $0.60 per pound was not going to cover valuable art that was very important to me. After significant back and forth with the various office managers - got a different on each time I called - two of my three items were dropped off at my house with no word as to the third item and a blanket denial that they ever even saw the third item.
