Deceptive Practices
Although the move went smoothly, I believe their sales tactics to be a blatant misrepresentation of the truth, and their quote practices completely deceptive. I chose these movers because of their estimate, and although I thought it was low, in my head I doubled it to arrive at a number I felt more accurate. They quoted me three hours based on the detailed inventory list I sent them, but I also knew this would not be enough.
Before they'd unload into the new location, the foreman wanted to talk to me "in private" about the bill. Didn't know why until we had the discussion. There were charges I felt were very exaggerated and never discussed, my total bill; $1,849. After being quoted $255 from again, a detailed inventory list. The extras were ridiculous and never discussed, as I thought I had a valid estimate. They refused to offload anything until they were paid in cash or by money order. I expressed my complete dissatisfaction with the foreman, which fell on deaf ears.
