Would Not Recommend

The moving company did not send anyone out to do an onsite estimate. I emailed a list of items including photos of our belongings. I explained to the person responsible for our estimate that it took 2 26' trucks to move our belongings two years prior and we now have even more things. The person responsible for our estimate told me the total weight would be no more than 8,000 and told me we likely "didn't pack the moving truck correctly" to explain why it took two trucks initially. She estimated approx 60 moving boxes. I disagreed and told her we would have more. She kept telling me she has been estimating moves for a long time. Bottom line: I should have known better. I understand what she gave was just an estimate. But to be 100%+ over the estimate was ridiculous. The driver/loaders told my husband after they loaded the truck that the estimator "doesn't know what she's doing" because she sits behind a desk and isn't in the field. If that's the case then why is she doing the estimates?  We were placed in position where we felt we had no choice. When our items arrived the people who unloaded our belongings made the comment (numerous times) "why didn't they wrap the furniture". There were dents, scratches and broken pieces (furniture). As for the boxes --- the movers disregarded the signs reading "this side up" I will never use this company again and do not recommend them.
