A Professional Movers.....Watch Out

I could go on for hours of how a simple move that took about 4.5 hrs. 10 years ago now took 11 1/2 hours with A Professional Movers. The following is my opinion, which is based on my experience with the company.

The move was stretched out, a massive amount of very expensive packing material was used that did not need to be, and a $300 stair fee was imposed that no one told me about. The day prior to the move I asked for an extra man to be assigned to the job but was told it would not be needed. This meant that 2 guys were moving where 3 were needed. A third man was on the truck apparently wrapping and taking up time and costing me money.

Many items were destroyed, scratched or found to be missing. This includes a antique lamp that has been in my family for over 70 years. The estimate was a sad joke. I gave as much information as I they thought they needed but few questions were asked of me. I couldn't believe that a bill for over 2k was given to me prior to the van be unloaded. I only had 1000 in cash on me as I was expecting a bill well under 1000 including tip. As I didn't have over 2k in cash on me (who does?), I had to pay with a credit card.

They then charged me a 3.5 % fee to use my card. I told the movers of the damage I found but I am finding more items damaged every day since the move. The company did not call me of bother to contact me after the move. I have emailed the company to get information on how to file a claim but no one has contacted me yet. I also had damage to my apartment and the hallways I took a lot of time to carefully pack my own items and they came out fine but the large items such as the lamps were damaged.

Although the move went smoothly, I believe their sales tactics to be a blatant misrepresentation of the truth, and their quote practices completely deceptive. I chose these movers because of their ...

After I was given an estimate of $255.00, I was charged $732.00. They wanted to charge us an additional $150.00 on top of the $732.00 to move a sofa into our home because "It was too big." They left i...

Good move overall, but it is important to emphasize to people who are moving that packing materials can represent a substantial cost if they do not estimate correctly.
