Beware!
I have never had a more horrible experience working with any business than I did with this moving company. However, my overall impression was that I would never again use a moving company, period. The costs and impersonal handling of objects are not worth it. The reasons are endless: 1) The move was originally supposed to occur on Sunday, March 27 between 9-10a.m. I received a phone call at 10:45 telling me there were problems with the moving truck and it would have to be pushed back to between 3-4. I received a phone call at 3:30 telling me the truck would not be ready until Tuesday. The person I was in touch with said if I could get a truck from another company, he could supply the movers--though he did not try hard enough to get a truck from another company (which I felt would be his responsibility). 2) There were extra charges for stairs that I was never made aware of. Yes, I understand the move is more difficult with stairs. But it was entirely irresponsible that they told me it was $150 charge for every eight stairs. The company was upset with me for not telling them I had stairs, though I was never asked. 3) The prices for packing materials were outrageous. I was charged $125 for a "crate" that was a cut up and taped-together cardboard box. Please learn from my mistakes! I do not recommed that you use Progressive Movers.
