Moving Woes

I felt the moving company underestimated our move. I gave them a detailed list of my items. Yes, I did add 2 more items BUT I had 4 items on my list that I didn't move. The pickup crew decided they should remove items from drawers from 2 dressser and pack them. They didn't even tell us before they started.

They stated the dressers would be too heavy to load. The truck they came with had a broken lift gate on it so all items had to be loaded by hand. The additonal packing was an upcharge to us. Also, I had a lot of damage to furniture. I had a solid brass bed headboard that arrived in 2 pieces. Some of it was bent so badly it was beyond repair. Bolts were broken off. The transport driver stated he picked up the headboard in 2 pieces. I have lots of damage to all pieces of furniture. My coffee table had a leg broken.

I have taken picture and will be filing a claim with the moving company but honestly I don't hold out much hope for recovering the cost of the damages. BTW I have to estimate the cost of repairs. They don't send anyone out to do that for you. So it you want something fixed its up to you to find someone to handle. it.

I would not recomind this company. The lack of communication and respect speaks for itself! They broke my bed, tv, my couch had mildew stains and was delivered soaking wet!
