We Made It
We were happy with the
movers themselves and the representative in the office. The dispatchers were terrible though-one of them asked for cash on the last day when I was told in advance that money orders were fine. Only after repeated phone calls did I get my furniture 12 hours later than the original time agreed upon. They wanted to deliver later by a day or so, but we did get our furniture at least on the same calendar day as agreed upon. All in all, it was not too bad, but having worked for Mayflower for years, I know that once the moving company has your goods, you are at their mercy. The one thing about the movers themselves that got to me was that the origin the driver said that if I went to the scales with him-which I had no desire to do as we have no car-it would cost us more money. That was an outright fib, but I let it slide.
