Moving 1 Was Not the Right One

While the price is the best you can find, I would not recommend this company.

They were rude and unhelpful, and made a number of mistakes and I had to pay the price for them. My items arrived without serious damage, although the pick-up men did not sufficiently wrap all of it and there were scratches and dings on things.

The company told me they would arrive between 2-5 pm on 10/2. At 4:45 pm they called to say that the drivers were still 5 hours away and could we reschedule to the morning between 7-8am on 10/3. I agreed. When they had not arrived at 8am, I called the company and was greeted by an answering machine telling me that "due to the high holy day, Yom Kippur, the offices would be closed until Tuesday (10/6) morning".

I left a message stating that the drivers had not arrived and I was pretty upset considering how accommodating I had been. I also tried calling the drivers and it went straight to voicemail. At 8:15 am on 10/3 the drivers called to say that they had overslept. They had to shower and eat and would arrive in 45 minute. The company never apologized for the inconvenience. The drivers apologized when they finally arrived, and then proceeded to request a tip from me!

Delivery was equally horrible. The company told me that they would contact me 24 hours in advance of the delivery to set-up a time I would be at home. Friday (10/9) I was in a class when the drivers left 2 messages saying they were in the area ready for delivery. I had 15 minutes between class and work that day. I called the company at 2:30pm (after class) and the man, Yumi, told me that the drivers were waiting at my house. I told him that I had not been contacted 24 hours in advance and I would not be able to get home to let them in until 5pm when I finished work.

Yumi rudely told me to take a 20 minute break or lunch break as the drivers would only need 20 minutes to unload the truck. I said that I couldn't do that. He then told me to ask my employer for a break and said I could blame him. I told him that I was not prepared to seem incompetent with my employer because of a problem with his company and drivers.

He then explained that my options were; (1)go home right away and let the drivers unload, (2)pay $100 an hour waiting fee (totaling $300), or (3)pay a $400 redelivery fee. Basically, he had me in an impossible situation and was in no way willing to compromise. I went home and an hour an a half later the truck was unpacked (NOT 20 minutes).
