Response from Thompson Moving & Storage
This customer was informed that the first job on his truck that morning turned out to be considerably larger than we were told and that we would be late, and would call him when we were on the way. He called our office repeatedly, and finally we suggested that if he was in that big of a hurry that we would understand if he called another company.
It is normal for our crews to ask about what is to be moved because oftentimes not everything goes. I find it interesting that he says the estimators knowledge was "limited" as the price estimate and time estimate were dead on. We apologized for the delay on his move, but we can only do what we can do.
As far as the move itself is concerned, the time estimate was perfect, the cost estimate perfect, and he had no damages. We were as exasperated about the time situation as he was, but on moving day there was little we could do about it. Our crew took good care of him and his belongings once we got there, and so I don't understand his statement that they "had trouble" moving stuff. No damages says it all. Better to be running late and do a good job, than to be on time and do a bad job.
