My Horrible Experience
I asked for my stuff to be delivered to my new address ASAP. After 18 days of waiting (I gave them some leeway as it was a cross-country move). I finally called to see where my stuff might be. Wisconsin? Arizona? Oregon? Nope. Turns out it was still in Boston. Hadn't even been loaded on a truck to leave yet (to be fair, the man I spoke with told me that it was "scheduled to load today," but I don't believe him. The extact day I call, 18 days later, and its "scheduled to be loaded?"...yeah, whatever.) 30 days after my stuff was picked up - 30 freakin' days! - the
moving truck pulled up outside my door. Ridiculous - and they blamed it on a paperwork error. Thanks for that. I got to live out of my carry on bag and go to Target and Old Navy to spend more money because of your "paperwork error". I'm sure it won't help, as the contract, which I signed, lays out a protocol for filing grievances, but I'm working with a lawyer in Boston to see what my options are. I bet these guys are great and this kind of "error" happens very rarely, and I'm tempted to cut them some slack...but when I think about just focusing on what MY experience was, and not consider myself an aberration in an otherwise wonderful company. I'll be recouping some money eventually, I'm sure...but the whole thing just sucked. Use them if you want, like I said, I'm sure they are normally a stand up company that does good work, and the professionalism of the staff in person and on the phone was evident. But that doesn't make last month one of waiting and living in three t-shirts and two pairs of shorts.
