Lightning Vans
Lightning Van Lines did a great job for us on our move. A company relocated us and they worked with them for billing, allowing us to not deal with that issue. Our
relocation didn't permit enough time to find housing at our new location so we got a furnished short term rental while we looked for a long term lease. Lightning held our stuff in storage for a month for free and sent it out quickly when we let them know an address to send it to. Moving from CA, to VA they estimated it would take 7-9 but up to 14 days to get there. It probably only took 7 days. They were very fast. For pickup, our drivers were on time. Drop off; they were 30 minutes late working with a 30 minute window. I'd give them 4.9 out of 5 if I could but went with 4 / 5 because of the tardiness. Not a big deal. Some of our fragile boxes came back slightly smashed, but not damaged. Once again, 4.9 out of 5 if possible, but they could have been placed away from heavier boxes that probably did the smashing, they probably could have been packed better on my end. All in all it was an easy move. Our original budget was high because the company that relocated us worked with two major movers and sent an agent to our home in CA to give us an "estimate." This number was used by the company in terms of pounds/cubic feet and we were forced to work with those numbers even though Vince, my lightning van rep, told me we had less based off of our phone estimate where I described what we had. After Lightning picked up our stuff in CA, they weighed it and got a revised estimate to me and saved us money. I appreciate their honesty and service.
