Bad Move
Initial estimates resulting in a binding estimate may well be much lower than actual price. Estimates are performed by brokers, NOT the moving companies. The brokers may low ball an estimate to get the job, and, if you're not careful about the fine print, you may be shocked at the final bill. Also, I was told that I "must" be in Tucson Az on August 30th for the delivery of my cross country move. After driving for three days from NJ, I arrived on the morning of the 30th to discover that the movers would not be there for 2 1/2 more days. Very poor communication, my things were damaged and furniture that needed to be taken apart to fit on the truck, was delivered and left unassembled. If I were moving again, I'd leave everything and or sell it, and buy new when I arrived cross country. Much too much stress.
