My Move
First, instead of sending the 27-foot truck, they sent a 17-foot truck -- this was not nearly big enough to fit all of our stuff. Thank goodness we sold our washer and dryer to the buyers, so the
movers didn't have to move those items. They ran out of room before they moved the refrigerator, so we had to move that ourselves. They bubble wrapped and shrink wrapped everything. Of course, it was an additional charge for the shipping materials they used, which came up to almost $2,000. They took over 10 hours to move us (after 8 hours, they charge you time and a half) and only moved about half of our belongings. They also charged a 10 percent fuel surcharge (10 percent surcharge on your total bill). Although I appreciate them being extra careful, it was a total over kill. We were only moving 10 miles away and
moving out of a three bedroom house. The cost was three times what I was expecting and the move took double the expected time.
