The Unholy Move
Olympia Moving & Storage managed to make the already stressful moving experience exponentially worse. After providing a low quote, the movers more than doubled the estimate AFTER loading our possessions onto their truck at 8:30 on the last day of the month. 12 days later we still have yet to see our possessions.
Before the move the company said our move would only take a few days, but the 5 hour drive from Chicago to St. Louis is at 12 days and counting. The company told us our furniture would arrive last weekend, but after no one answered the phones on Sunday it took 3 calls Monday, eventually saying we would wait on the line, for them to tell us they were way behind schedule and our stuff should be here by the next weekend. Their quoted price does not include, but mentions in fine print a 13% fuel surcharge, but does not include the highway robbery doubling of costs on the night of the move. Their "professional" moving team showed a crack in the leg of our dresser that had previously survied at least 3 unprofessional moves but didn't take 5 minutes for them to break the leg off. They then tried to convince us to just leave the dresser (I'm glad I didn't trust the with my TV's). They called and said they would be here today, but I'm not holding my breath. I can not stress this enough - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
