A-2-B Moving
The move cost was double the original quote. I was quoted for 3 movers --they showed up late with 2 guys. When I complained, they were able to get a third guy to the site an hour later. The foreman looked over all the items to be moved and reported to me that he should be able to stay close to the quoted price of 475.00 (different than what I was quoted on the phone) since I was not using any of their packing materials.
The movers appeared slow-moving especially for the first couple of hours compared to the movers I hired last year, although they were still hard-working overall and courteous. I had some damage to my furniture that was reported to me and some that I discovered later and am filing a claim on. The damage is not severe, but it is enough to ruin the overall appearance of the furniture on some pieces and one piece is damaged enough to make it unusable.

The estimate is exactly that: a quote. When choosing a mover if you're looking at price typically you're looking at the hourly rate. Our hourly rate was pretty low for your job. It was just hourly and you only pay for how ever long the guys work plus the one hour of travel time.
When we estimate a job it's based on what you tell us over the phone; if you didn't tell us pieces of furniture or if we had to come in and pack anything unexpectedly, then the final bill would have been over the estimate. This is the first time I have ever had a complaint about my guys being slow; they get their bonuses for staying within their quote, so they have no incentive to move slow.
Lastly, as for as the damages, I have sent claim forms, but until just now have heard nothing about any furniture being unusable. Of course if there really are damages they will be handled appropriately and someone will be out soon to look at the alleged damages and see what we can do to fix them and if something is destroyed that will be handled in a completely different fashion. I have not heard any complaints from consumer until I got this review; if I had of course I would have gone above and beyond to please her.
