Horrible Experience
The
moving consultant was very responsive until the driver did not show up. It took six phone calls and two hours of being on hold to find out what time the driver should arrive. When he did not arrive, it took several more phone calls to speak to a manager who then scheduled another driver for two days. I was told that the movers would be Nationwide employees, and this was not true. Nationwide used their broker's license without my knowledge. The manager also told me that there would be some compensation for me because of the two day delay. She never did return my phone calls. In addition, when I signed the original "binding" estimate, the move consultant instructed me to write N/A instead of my initials for the paragraphs that did not apply. One of the paragraphs stated that I would be responsible for costs over the original estimate. There was nothing in the estimate that stated an amount for weight overages. Upon the movers' arrival, I was asked to sign another estimate that included .25 cents per pound for anything over 7000 in the original estimate. Because I was scheduled to leave the state in two days, I had no choice but to agree to the terms. The weight went over by 400 pounds, which I was not prepared to pay. The total lack of professionalism from the Nationwide staff cost more stress than any other aspect of my move, and I would never recommend them to anyone.
