Frank Sinatra's former New York penthouse ready for buyers

August 7, 2012 - Fans of legendary singer Frank Sinatra may be thrilled to hear his former East Side apartment has been listed for sale, but it won't be easy to come up with the $7.7 million asking price. While it has not been reported how much he paid for the Manhattan unit back in 1960s, the property has likely undergone some major renovations since it was last purchased in 2010 for $2.495 million.

The home reportedly played host to major parties while inhabited by Sinatra, with a guest list including Andy Warhol, John F. Kennedy, Sammy Davis Jr. and Marilyn Monroe. While the unit has certainly been modernized, it still offers the same view of the East River via the wraparound terraces.

With 3,000 square feet of living space, the penthouse makes up both the 22nd and 23rd floors of the building and has four bedrooms and six bathrooms. Other notable features of the recently redone home include an all-glass staircase, 18-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows in the master suite.

While Sinatra moved out of the home in 1972, the home's celebrity history and upgrades should have buyers calling for moving services soon.
