Movers
This company was a nightmare. When they came to pick up my furniture, the mover had a $176.00 fuel charge added to the estimate I was given over the phone. I pulled out my contract and showed the guy that there was no mention of fuel charge and told him I wasnt paying it. He took it off but I had him draw a line through the charges and initial.
Then, he refused to take a shelf because I told the estimator over the phone that the size of it was medium but the mover said it was large. They forgot to take several items that I had to point out to the mover. He seemed irritated that I would show him items they forgot. They tried to make me pay $10.00 per item for plastic wrap, saying it was mandatory. Again, that was not in my contract and I refused the plastic wrap.
Once my stuff was loaded that he said was on my list, there was many items that the mover said was not on my list. I asked him how much it would cost to take what was left. The mover walked around and looked at all the items I had left and gave me an increased price.
After another hour of loading there was still several items the mover said he could not take without increasing the price, even though he already looked at everything left and increased the price. I had to leave 2 tables, 2 chairs, 1 mirror, and 2 boxes. Also, while they were packing up my items I provided the tape. After the movers left I had to clean up all of the empty tape rolls and other trash that was left by them.
On my contract I requested to have the items delivered on July 31st. I did not get my items until August 17. This company stored my items in a warehouse in Illinois until they got enough moves to Florida, so I did not have my items for over 2 weeks!
Their contract states delivery can take up to 3 business weeks, which is 21 days. I had no furniture or clothes. When my items did arrive, there was only 2 guys to unload it. One weighed 130 pounds and the other was sick. These 2 guys were very nice and honest but could have really used help. One of the guys pointed out damage to my king size wood frame bed & scratches where the screws from the other side were wrapped together. Big huge scratches.
Also, my fireplace screen is missing one of the legs, which I cant use it at all now. Also, I have a wine bar from Crate and Barrel that must have had heavy items stored on it, because it tilts forward and I can't put anything on top as it slides right off. When they left they did not clean up anything. I was left with an industrial size garbage bag of tape to gather up everywhere.
