Ms.
The movers were late. There was minor damage to my desk and my living room chair.
A list of items was given to the phone representative to determine if it was more cost effective to charge by the hour or by the piece. So they had an idea of how much stuff I had, still they didn't bring a large enough trailer and had to make two trips, which added to the hourly rate. I believe they knew they should have brought a larger truck.
When I tried to get a second copy of the invoice from the company, it was extremely difficult to get the right person on the phone. They seemed to always be out to lunch or on a break (at 9 a.m.). Finally, when someone did actually return my call, they claimed to not have the second invoice, which I paid in cash at the mover's insistence.
The person on the phone suspected that all this activity was suspicious and asked me to fax over a copy of the invoice that I paid cash with, the second one with additional hourly charges. I sent the fax and never heard from them again.
