Good Workers, Bad Business
The guys
moving our belongings were very courteous and used the utmost care in moving our things. They had no problems with me adding things to the list of items to be moved as they were moving. They also made an additional stop for me with no problem. The initial estimate was for four hours, minus one hour for travel time. This makes it a little tricky because you have to subtract an hour to make it three hours for $299. I paid an additional $25 or $35 for an additional stop. Total move time was five hours. Three hours for $299 and two additional hours for $89 an hour. I paid the workers cash for the move, roughly $486 in cash. At no time was I told that my debit card was going to be charged for the entire amount before my belongings were unloaded at the final destination. The amount I paid in cash was placed on my debit card as a pending transaction despite the fact that I paid cash causing a nearly $500 deficit in my checking account. Several checks in my account bounced due to this deficit. My wife called to talk to the owner and he became very angry with her and started swearing at her and ultimately hung up on her. I was told that a fee of $49 was going to be put on my card to hold my move date, but at no time was I informed that the total amount of the move would be placed on my card before my items were removed at the final destination. Just be aware of this when booking a move.
