Moving Review

They arrived on time, but they were tired, from an earlier move. They moved slowly, and were unorganized. They did not have enough room for all of my belongings, even though I gave a good estimate of what I had to be moved.

I had to move the rest of my household goods (several trips) because there was no way that I was going to let them make another trip to increase more charges. They broke and cracked some of my goods. I called the call center, and they appeared somewhat apologetic. He gave me a number to call, but I got no answer.

He gave me another local number, which I left a message on their machine, with my complaints and number, yet I still have not got a return call yet. This was the worst move that I have ever had (and I have had plenty, with 16 years of military service). I would not recommend them.

Response from US 1 Van Lines

Mr. Tillman had a local move. We were told he had a "3 bedroom home". The quotation given was for the minimum labor fees for this type of move and not an "estimate."

This consumer did not have an Estimator see him before his move date. Mr. Tillman had chosen to schedule a crew for 2nd shift, versus 1st shift. The movers are used to working two shifts in a day. Mr. Tillman was provided with a large moving van, 26 feet. In the rare case that a consumer has more items than a normal moving van, the only thing a mover can do is make a round trip. This is beyond the control of the mover.

Our company stands by our service. In the unfortunate event that something does get damaged due to human error, our claims personnel follow all state and federal reguations in the processing and handling of all consumer complaints. To start a claim, the client must send the claim to the mover in writing, as stated on the moving contract. To date, we do not show this client to have sent his claim in for review.

The movers were not personible. The supervisor did not speak adequate english to communicate with us. They were slow and took six hr vvs. the advertised four. I would not recommend this company.
