Never Use Mr. Move Inc. from Kenner, LA
Being a former military officer and civilian expatriate, someone who has moved around the world and throughout the United States, this is the worst moving company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. While the actual moving staff that showed up at the house were polite, courteous and did an okay job. The office dispatchers were rude and actually held my household goods hostage when it came time to delivery and would not the moving staff deliver until I over paid them for which I have repeatedly called and they continue to give me the run around and state that they will contact me about the over payment. This was all brought about because where I asked them (a dispatcher) before the move if they would accept a credit card. I was informed that they would accept only cash and local checks. I then asked if they would accept a check on my bank. I was informed as I was moving on a Military base, the check would be accepted and that it would be no problem. I asked this question a week before the move and asked it again a day before the move. Both times I was reassured that it would be no problem. I was also sent a email quoting are agreed price, the email was incorrect and had the incorrect hourly rate. The movers should up at my house with paperwork with the incorrect agreed to hourly rate. Finally, I was informed at 3 pm as the truck arrived to the military base that I had to give the driver 1400 in cash to receive my household goods and that they would accept nothing less! This price included the drivers estimate of 4 hours to deliver the household goods. It only took 3 hours and they have not reimbursed me the difference as they stated they would. I also had to call my bank and have them authorize an increase in my atm withdrawal amount in order to come up with the 1400.00 at 3 pm on a Friday! Also, when I mentioned seeking legal (police) intervention on the phone the dispatcher stated that he refused to deal with the local or military police and had the truck moved back to his local jurisdiction. This is where I had to go to pay the drive and then have them come back to the base and deliver the household goods. Finally to top all this off, the trucks DMV sticker was expired and the driver did not have a valid driver's license on him! No, I do not recommend Mr. Move Inc and would tell anyone to stay far away from them as they still owe me at least $50.00 from the difference of the over billing and they are refusing to pay!
