Late Movers

The movers were supposed to be there at 1:00 p.m., but didn't arrive until 6:10 p.m. When they were late, I called the office and they told me they were behind and that they wouldn't be there until 2:00 p.m. I called them again at 3:00 p.m., they had the foreman call me, he told me he was running behind and would be there about 4:00 p.m. Also, the truck ran through the gate at the apartment and broke the gate instead of waiting for my daughter to open the gate for them. They didn't put covers on the mattresses, told me I would have to pay for that. I never knew of a moving company where the mattress covers weren't included in the price. The men were polite and courteous but coming five hours late is unacceptable.

A second shift reservation does not have a specific starting time. The start time depends on when the crews will be completed with the clients who have the first shift slots. Traffic can also affect starting times, especially in big metropolitan areas such as Atlanta. A mover cannot control when a 2nd shift will start.

As to mattress covers, our company does disclose to all consumers that if you need supplies such as boxes or mattress covers, you can purchase them from the truck on the date of your move. This information is given to all clients both verbally and in writing prior to the reservation of the move.

As to the gate, our truck did not "run through the gate". The gate was opened for the truck to pass through. However, the gate closed on the truck while it was still crossing through the gate. Gates are supposed to have sensors to see if the vehicle has completed passage, and to also not close on pedestrians or children.

We are pleased the client was ultimately completely satisfied with his move and all personnel of the move.

Two hours into the move they wanted to charge for four hours or they threatened to leave with my furniture on the truck. I was forced to pay for the whole four hours and was treated very nastily.

The movers were not personible. The supervisor did not speak adequate english to communicate with us. They were slow and took six hr vvs. the advertised four. I would not recommend this company.
