Headaches of Moving
In fairness to STI, we have just filed a claim for damages, so I am unable to determine their responsiveness. I was a little disappointed in a couple of things with this move. I was told that our load was going to a warehouse to be re-loaded, so I authorized the shrink wrapping of mattresses so that they would not get dirty. I found out afterwards our belongings did not go to a warehouse, so I feel we were charged for services that we probably did not need. My grandson's crib was damaged, even though the movers wrapped it. The cherrywood veneer is chipped and coming off, almost as if someone had hit it with something repeatedly. We were charged for a box to enclose a guitar case, only to have the case delivered with no box, boxes that were clearly marked fragile and "This End Up," were not handled accordingly. The sales staff was helpful and friendly, and our belongings were delivered in a timely fashion. I feel they need to screen their movers to ensure that customers are being informed of the correct procedures and do not feel pressured to make a costly decision.
