A Big Surprise

When I went over all the items on the phone with the moving estimator, he gave me a low bid and lead me to believe that I was getting a good deal. When the packers came out to pack up our household goods, they said we were over weight and would have to pay more for the overweight pounds. I was disappointed and upset that I was not told this until all the household goods were loaded on the truck and too late to make any other changes. I was stuck and ended up paying lots more than I was told that it would cost. I was very upset with being told one thing about the price and then told something else at the end. My counselor on the phone was deceiving by giving me a low bid and when in the end, it cost me almost double of what I was told. I will never use this company again. It was difficult to get anyone on the phone after picking up my household. I would leave messages and no one would return my calls for days. The only bright spot in this move was that the packers did a good job in wrapping my items and we had a minimum amount of breakage. The crew that delivered and unloaded our items were courteous and did a great job! The employees seem to be quite good, packers and loaders, but the other people I dealt with were deceptive and made promises that they did not keep and also distorted the price estimate and ended up charging me almost double of what they estimated! Do not use this company unless you do not mind paying double of what they estimated you.

When the client was originally quoted; they were quoted based off the inventory the client provided us of 54 pieces or 518 cubic feet. Once Across USA arrived at the client’s home for pickup; the client ended up having an additional 38 pieces that gave her a total of 750 cubic feet. In addition; items from the client’s home needed to be packed correctly for shipping that Across USA assisted the client with. The packing materials which were minimal were an additional cost. Our movers gave the client the information of the changes as they occurred. The majority of the additional cost for this client came from the additional inventory that was not disclosed prior to booking. All household goods are listed on the estimate and are reviewed with the client before they sign. Our moving consultants our highly trained and have years of experience in the moving industry; in addition have extensive knowledge in assisting our clients with their moving needs. Across USA delivered the client’s household goods on the first available date requested by the client. If Across USA could recommend a solution for this situation, we would recommend that each client be completely forthright with their inventory of items they are moving and make sure it’s as detailed and thorough as possible. We are a customer service based company and our client’s satisfaction comes first.

I would suggest that you plan your move several weeks ahead of time. I would also highly recommend using Across USA Moving.
