Once you have narrowed it down to a specific neighborhood or community, check Relocation.com for real estate agents in Denver. For those looking for an apartment or condominium, many Denver realtors also offer residential renters information. Whatever you are seeking Denver, Colorado is a splendid place to call home and the ideal place to invest in your future.

History:
A silver boom in the 1880s ushered in another period of rapid growth, filling Denver with the Victorian mansions of silver barons and making it the most elegant city in the West. The collapse of the silver market in the panic of 1893 stunted the city's economy, forcing the city to diversify. By the early 1900s, Denver had become the commercial and industrial center of the Rocky Mountain region, as well as a leader in livestock sales, agriculture and tourism. Denver sustained a period of relatively slow development until the 1930s. Prior to World War II, when such federal government agencies as the Geological Survey, the U.S. Mint, Lowry Air Force Base, and the Air Force Accounting Center were established in the area, Denver experienced another population surge that continued through the 1950s. During the 1960s, Denver lost population as residents moved to the suburbs to escape inner city deterioration. Growth slowed again in the mid-1970s as a result of the oil industry crisis. Because of efforts to diversify the economy, Denver became known as “the energy capital of the west.” In fact, by 1980 approximately 1,200 energy companies were located in Denver. As Denver entered the 21st century, it reflected the economic downturn due to the high-tech industry but has since stabilized and strengthened to remain the principal commercial, financial and industrial center of the Rocky Mountain region.

Economy:
Major companies in the Denver metropolitan area employ workers in a range of fields such as air transportation, telecommunications, aerospace and manufacturing. The city is also a major energy research center and a regional headquarters for government agencies. The financial and commercial capital of the Rocky Mountain region, Denver's downtown banking district consists of major national and international institutions. The city is the transportation hub for a large portion of the western United States; consumer and industrial goods are transported by air, rail and truck through Denver to more than 30 million people annually. Denver's central location places it in an advantageous position for future economic development and growth. Analysts predict that the city will become a high-technology research, development and manufacturing hub for the entire Southwest. Employers in Denver choose from a highly educated labor pool. The city ranks second in the nation for the number of residents with bachelors degrees and 64 percent of residents age 24 and older have attended college. Local analysts predict a healthy economy, based on Denver's quality labor force, affordable cost of living, high quality of life, and low commercial lease rates. With a diverse employment base across many sectors, Denver is in a prime position for growth well into the 21st century.

Tourism:
Begin by visiting the Paramount Theatre. Denver’s premier performing arts and entertainment center, the theater features all genres of music, comedy, dance, films and speakers. Next, head over to the Denver Zoo. The Denver Zoo, located in City Park, spans over 75 acres and is home to over 4,000 animals including rare leopards, okapi, black rhinoceros, elephants, orangutan and more. Or, visit the city’s Downtown Aquarium. From Colorado's state fish, the greenback cutthroat trout, to swimming Sumatran tigers, visitors experience a variety of fish, mammals and birds that all rely upon water. Next, visit the Colorado Symphony, which performs over 100 concerts, highlighting the music of time honored masters and new works by today's talented composers and artists. The city also offers more than 850 miles of paved off-road trails that connect to hundreds of miles of dirt trails and mountain bike adventures. The nearby Rocky Mountains boast hiking excursions and wildlife. For the sports fan in the family, Denver is home to eight professional sports teams that thrill sold out crowds throughout the year. Check online for upcoming games and tickets.
