Tips for single homeowners

February 5, 2010 - Single homeowners who are planning on relocating may want to seek properties that are conducive to an independent lifestyle.

These homes may include features such as those that Jennifer Aniston recently added to her house to make it more supportive to her single lifestyle.

The actress has completed a two-and-a-half-year remodeling project on her Beverly Hills home, which will be featured in the upcoming issue of Architectural Digest, People reports.

Aniston converted one of the house's his-and-her bathrooms into a large soaking tub, installed wool and silk shag carpeting in her master bedroom and purchased a platform bed that holds a television.

The home's palette was drawn from Brazilian cumaru, a type of wood that can be tan-brown to reddish in hue, according to EastTeak.com.

Aniston told people that some of the renovations - such as a dining room that seats 24 people - were intended to help her entertain guests.

Individuals who live alone and enjoy having company may want to consider purchasing homes that have extra bedrooms. In addition, they may want to consider protecting themselves with a home security system.
