Certain essentials will simplify life for college students
July 22, 2010 - Moving to college can be an exciting time for students everywhere, but it can be stressful if they're not prepared.
CBS News offered a checklist of items that every college student can't be without. These items would not only help make campus life easier, they could also keep kids on top of schoolwork and on time for class, said the report. Basic essentials like an alarm clock, bed sheets, desk lamp, extension cords and surge protectors, hangers and hand vacuums were included. But the report didn't forget certain technological tools that would keep students wired in, like a laptop, digital camera, ethernet cords, and extra television cables.
Other necessities included plates and utensils for eating, a water bottle, a microwave, and a mini fridge. Rain gear will keep students dry on the walk to and from class, and shower sandals will keep their feet off the questionably unclean communal shower floors. A shower caddy will keep their bath necessities organized, while curtains can help make their doom room more "homey," said the report.
Most families will help move their children to school themselves, although mobile storage units can help keep their items safe during the move.
