Mark Wahlberg ponders leaving West Coast

August 13, 2010 - Fearing possible negative influences in Hollywood, actor Mark Wahlberg is considering moving his family somewhere else.

The actor - who currently stars in the Will Ferrell comedy "The Other Guys" - has four children between the ages of one and seven with wife Rhea Durham. He lives in Los Angeles, but fears that when his kids hit their teens, they might find themselves tempted by some of Hollywood's vices, reported ContactMusic.com.

"You know, kids in Hollywood," he told the news site. "A few people that I know have done it, very well behaved kids, but the odds aren't in it. It's tough either way you play it but we'll play it by ear."

Wahlberg's wife is from Florida while he is a native of Boston. He told the site he would be reluctant of relocating somewhere too far off the beaten path, since having too much time on their hands might lead his children into less desirable pursuits.

Many parents struggle with moving with children, fearing negative influences but also not wanting to shake up a child's life too often. It is a decision they should not take lightly.
