January 19, 2012 - Sources report that the director of Scarface, Brian De Palma, has listed his home in Santa Monica for sale. The mansion was listed at $4.25 million, much more than the $968,500 he purchased it for in 1994.De Palma is well-known for directing the mob movie but has also directed Dressed to Kill, Mission Impossible, The Black Dahlia, The Untouchables and many other popular movies.The Mediterranean-style home sits on a quarter-acre of land and offers 4,200 square feet of living space including three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Other features of the home showcase its luxury including a two-story den, French doors and a large master suite with a balcony that overlooks the property's outdoor amenities. The terrace overlooks a swimming pool and patio compete with an outdoor fireplace.Despite the estate's high price, its proximity to the Santa Monica Beach Park should have it sold quickly. It has not been reported where De Palma plans on directing a moving company, but sources say he has already started packing.
