Recycling moving supplies for good purposes

June 19, 2012 - After the moving company has left and the boxes are being unpacked, many consumers may be unsure of what they should do with all of their moving supplies, such as boxes and packaging materials. However, there are a number of creative uses people may find.

For instance, styrofoam packing peanuts can take up a lot of space and aren't the best thing to throw away since they are not biodegradable. Packing peanuts can also be used for safety purposes. Using them to cover the ends of tools or other sharp objects in a workroom can help prevent careless injuries.

Moving boxes can also pile up after a move is complete. While it may make sense to keep a few of these around for assorted purposes, the rest may be useful to children for recreation. Larger boxes can easily be transformed into imaginary boats or rockets for creative youngsters. After that, excess boxes can generally be recycled through a town's usual collection process.
