With more development taking place in these coastal areas, the number of claims likely to be filed is sure to rise.As a result of more people moving to homes in the Atlantic coastal region, the number of insurers including storm damage percentage deductibles instead of more traditional ones is rising, the III said. These are calculated based on the insured value of a home. When moving to a region that is prone to hurricanes and wind storms, consumers should also buy materials to use during the event of a natural disaster. These can include storm shutters and an emergency disaster kit.
