October 28, 2011 - Rumor has it that a cozy home fit for a princess recently hit the real estate market in Los Angeles, according to Curbed.
The Lafayette Square space once belonged to longtime society columnist - a polite, old-timey term for gossip columnist - Princess Conchita Sepulveda Chapman Pignatelli. Pignatelli was married to Italian Prince Valerio Pignatelli and worked for the famed newspaper mogul William Randolph Hearst. Her society column competitors were the likes of Louella Parsons and Hedda Hopper, the source explains.
The Princess' former home is now ready for the moving company, and potential homebuyers can move into the four-bedroom, four-bathroom, Spanish-style home for $1.2 million. Built in 1926, the structure has 3,310 square feet of living space, plenty of room for the new owners to spread out after moving day, RedFin reports.
The home has been restored to its former pristine condition, complete with period-perfect details and luxury conveniences. The sunken living room features Spanish pavers, wood-burning fireplace and an attached bar alcove which leads into a formal dining room. Built-in bookcases and arched doorways add character, while an updated kitchen fitted with state-of-the-art appliances brings the home into the 21st century, the source explains.
