Dominique Strauss-Kahn is selling in Georgetown
October 27, 2011 - Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the former director of the International Monetary Fund, is in need of a moving company in Washington, D.C., where he and his wife have placed their Georgetown home on the real estate market, according to Curbed.
Strauss-Kahn left his post as director of the IMF after a maid in New York City accused him of assault, a charge which was later dropped. Strauss-Kahn has been selling off is American properties since the scandal blew over, and this home, which was purchased in 2007 for $4 million, is just the latest piece of real estate to be offered to homebuyers. The economic expert and his wife are selling the space for $5.2 million, the source explains.
Built in 1900, the brick-front home has three bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms. The space has undergone extensive home repair and maintenance projects, and the updated gourmet kitchen features dark flooring, white custom cabinets and high-end appliances, including a wine refrigerator. A breakfast nook is available for casual meals, while a formal dining room is perfect for entertaining guests after moving day, RedFin reports.
The home also has a pair of fireplaces, a spa-style master bathroom with soaking tub and plenty of floor to ceiling windows. The new homeowners can also enjoy the home’s outdoor swimming pool and spa during the warmer months, according to the source.
