New York Yankees catcher sells home in Florida

November 10, 2011 - Jorge Posada, catcher for the New York Yankees, just sold his home in Miami for $4.5 million. The home was on the market for 611 days and originally listed at $7.2 million in January of 2010.

The mansion was built for Posada back in 2003 and sits on two acres of land in the Tampa neighborhood of Avila. The Mediterranean-style home has 9, 788 square feet of living space and is perfect for a large family with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

The home also features a library, movie theater, game room, gym and a huge gourmet kitchen. Outside the home has a designer pool, grotto, waterfalls and a slide into the pool - perfect for the Florida heat. The all-star athlete also added a baseball mound and a basketball court to the property.

This is all great news for the MLB player who announced he does not plan on returning to play for New York in the 2012 season. Posada is currently a free agent, and has earned five World Series rings throughout his 17 season career with the Yankees. Agents report that somewhere around five teams have expressed interest, but Posada has yet to announce if he is returning or where he will be moving
