Home of former Today Show host now for sale
November 7, 2011 - A penthouse first owned by former radio and television personality David Garroway, is for sale in in New York’s Greenwich Village. Garroway is most known as the first host of NBC’s Today Show.
The property, better known as the Butterfield House, is actually a duplex. The penthouse offers up what any property with a nearly $7 million price tag should, including city skyline views and metropolitan living. The home’s history, post-modern architecture and location make it one of the most desirable penthouses currently on the market.
The home has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The chef’s kitchen has a built-in banquet with granite counter tops. The old-fashioned sunken living room has a wood-burning fireplace and access to an outside terrace, while the dining room has access to another terrace. The master bedroom features a spa bathroom and a lot of closet space, complete with yet another terrace.
A favorite feature of the home is a custom staircase that leads up to what could be used as an office or media room. Other luxuries for residents include a fitness center, concierge, 24-hour doorman service and a live-in resident manager.
The celebrity status of Greenwich Village continues to grow, leaving everyone wondering who will be moving into Garroway’s former home.
