Who is AMSA?

Established in 1936, the American Moving and Storage Association is a non profit trade association based out of Washington D.C. With more than 3,500 professional mover members, AMSA is dedicated to making your move successful every step of the way. AMSA moving company members are professional movers moving interstate household goods (between states). In addition, these companies may provide intrastate and local moving services as well as storage in a warehouse. AMSA represents all facets of the moving and the storage industry: van lines, agents, independent movers, forwarders, international movers, auto transporters, suppliers and others.

AMSA carefully screens its mover members, ensuring that consumers are matched to movers who have met all licensing and insurance requirements, and providing for arbitration of disputes between consumers and movers through its "Household Goods Dispute Settlement Program." One of AMS''s goals is a well-informed public that better understands the value of professional moving service.

The American Moving and Storage Association is a member-driven and offers a complete range of services to its members.

AMSA members transport between 1.3 and 1.5 million households each year.

Nashua, New Hampshire

Nashua, also known as the 'Gate City,' is a great moving destination for people of all ages. It is a trendy place with lots of attractions for residents and visitors to take in. As an added plus, the New Hampshire authorities do not believe in sales tax there. Moving to Nashua is definitely a step in the right direction and we can help by making your move that much easier. We cover properties in all the major towns and cities of Hillsborough County as well as the other counties in New Hampshire.

History:
Nashua’s early history was bound with Massachusetts, and it only changed to being part of New Hampshire around 1842. The city was founded in 1853 by charter as Nashua’s characteristics changed from those of a mill town to one with many business interests -  not to mention the arrival of six railroad networks and the effective mobility this offered to passengers, produce and goods. By the mid-20th century all the mills in Nashua had closed down though as new techniques enabled cotton to be made into fabric wherever it was grown. This caused an increase in local unemployment until defense firm Sanders Associates arrived in town and took over one of the redundant mills. Sanders Associates later became part of BAE Systems. High tech company Digital Equipment Corporation also moved to Nashua in the 1970s and is now part of the Hewlett-Packard group. Today Nashua is part of the Boston-area High Tech corridor and continues to grow.

Economy:
Nashua is proud home to a number of key industries, specifically health care, computers and high technology. The city has been a virtual incubator for high-tech companies since the early 1950s, and today produces a high volume of locally produced electronic components, and hardware and software goods too. It is also a desirable business destination thanks to its reasonable corporate taxes and vat exemptions. While it continues to maintain a strong manufacturing base, it has also become a major retail, service and financial center for southern Hillsborough County and the adjacent Massachusetts communities. Plans for developing the Nashua River Walk area are well advanced. With all of these exciting opportunities, it's no wonder why so many people are using Nashua moving companies.

Tourism:
Nashua has an extraordinary variety of cultural and recreational activities awaiting the visitor. A good start point would be spending time at the Pheasant Lane Mall which boasts hundred of shops and stores under a million square feet of cover. The historic downtown area should be on your itinerary too. There are some outstanding parks and forests if you want to experience the great outdoors instead. The Nashua Symphony and North Ballet have busy non-stop seasons of performances, and works of many local artists are on view in various galleries. Prepare for your visit to Nashua by checking out the entire list of events and activities at www.visitnh.gov. You could also check out the top 50 Things to do from the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce website. As the old adage goes “saving you time, saving you money, putting you first”.

Colleges/Universities:

Interesting Facts:

  • The Bronze Bust of John F. Kennedy attracts many visitors. It is located at the spot where he delivered his first official campaign speech in 1960.
  • There are 330 full-service restaurants in Nashua.
  • The population density in Nashua is 2,840 persons per square mile.
