Who is AMSA?

Established in 1936, the American Moving and Storage Association is a non profit trade association based out of Washington D.C. With more than 3,500 professional mover members, AMSA is dedicated to making your move successful every step of the way. AMSA moving company members are professional movers moving interstate household goods (between states). In addition, these companies may provide intrastate and local moving services as well as storage in a warehouse. AMSA represents all facets of the moving and the storage industry: van lines, agents, independent movers, forwarders, international movers, auto transporters, suppliers and others.

AMSA carefully screens its mover members, ensuring that consumers are matched to movers who have met all licensing and insurance requirements, and providing for arbitration of disputes between consumers and movers through its "Household Goods Dispute Settlement Program." One of AMS''s goals is a well-informed public that better understands the value of professional moving service.

The American Moving and Storage Association is a member-driven and offers a complete range of services to its members.

AMSA members transport between 1.3 and 1.5 million households each year.

Daytona Beach, Florida

Daytona Beach, also known as “the world’s most famous beach,” has 23 miles of gorgeous beaches and an active community of over 63,800 residents. It is common to see many families moving to Daytona Beach because of the unique and relaxed lifestyle in the area. Daytona Beach is also famous for the Races that are held here. It is home to Daytona International Speedway where the NASCAR races are held.

Economy:
The Daytona Beach economy is undoubtedly very closely linked to tourism. People from all over the world come to Daytona Beach to experience its warm weather and white sand beaches. The NASCAR races are also a popular attraction driving even more visitors to the area.

Because of the number of visitors that flock to Daytona Beach, Florida shopping is also a very popular industry here. Daytona Beach movers are always kept busy by retailers who want to take advantage of the city’s business opportunities.

History:
Most historians agree that the city’s name was something that Mathias D. Day, a very rich business man, came up with. Day purchased a very large tract of land in the area and built the first hotel there. There were initially three adjacent towns in the area. These three merged to become the current Daytona Beach and was incorporated into a city in 1876.

Daytona Beach became famous because a lot of cars were being test driven on its sands. Eventually this lead to car races being held on the sands of Daytona Beach. When Bill France came into the picture in 1959, he had the Daytona International Speedway built. France was also the founder of NASCAR which he established several years earlier in Daytona Beach as well.

Tourism:
Daytona Beach has a lot to offer its visitors. The beaches are obviously some of the world’s best. It’s not called “the world’s most famous beach” for nothing. The compact sands are great for jogging, building sand castles and family picnics. It is also one of the few places where cars are allowed on the beach. Another famous attraction in Daytona Beach are the NASCAR races. Car enthusiasts from all over the world come to Daytona Beach to experience the thrill of the race. The races are held on the tracks of the world famous Daytona International Speedway.

For visitors looking for a place to spend the afternoons and evenings, a visit to Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse & Museum is nice idea. The lighthouse offers a great view of the sun and the sands. The view is especially beautiful during the sunsets. Yet another must visit museum in the area is Halifax Historical Museum. It’s the most popular museum in Daytona Beach and it has a comprehensive exhibit on the history of the area.
