Who is AMSA?

Established in 1936, the American Moving and Storage Association is a non profit trade association based out of Washington D.C. With more than 3,500 professional mover members, AMSA is dedicated to making your move successful every step of the way. AMSA moving company members are professional movers moving interstate household goods (between states). In addition, these companies may provide intrastate and local moving services as well as storage in a warehouse. AMSA represents all facets of the moving and the storage industry: van lines, agents, independent movers, forwarders, international movers, auto transporters, suppliers and others.

AMSA carefully screens its mover members, ensuring that consumers are matched to movers who have met all licensing and insurance requirements, and providing for arbitration of disputes between consumers and movers through its "Household Goods Dispute Settlement Program." One of AMS''s goals is a well-informed public that better understands the value of professional moving service.

The American Moving and Storage Association is a member-driven and offers a complete range of services to its members.

AMSA members transport between 1.3 and 1.5 million households each year.

Pompano Beach, Florida

Imagine yourself stranded at a beach-the warm sand, gorgeous water and beautiful weather and most likely you are thinking about Pompano Beach, Florida. Considered a gateway to the Gold Coast, Pompano Beach is now home to 104,402 residents whose numbers increase during the areas busy season – from September through March. Not only is this an ideal place for a vacation getaway, but many people chose to relocate to Pompano Beach to experience relaxation and enjoyment year-round.

Economy:
Pompano Beach is a multi-cultural community that provides employment to the 2.5 million residents. Once a thriving agricultural community, the city has evolved into a warehouse and distribution hub for a wide-range of companies that service the residents of South Florida. The Pompano Beach Air Park is home to the famous Goodyear Blimp. Pompano Beach has been named an “All-America City,” an honor given to the most prestigious community whose residents, government, businesses and non-profit organizations work together to address critical local issues. The city has also been declared a Tree City USA for the 19th time and for its commitment to enhancing its tree canopy and providing shade and fresh air to residents and guests. With all of these attractions, it’s no wonder Pompano Beach moving companies are so bringing in new residents.

History:
Those who first populated the area were attracted to its rich soil and mild temperatures. One of the early cash crops was pineapples. Competition from Caribbean and Hawaiian pineapple growers led most farmers to switch to growing tomatoes, which turned out to be more profitable. Farmers later discovered that beans, peppers and other winter vegetables were even more financially rewarding. Throughout the Great Depression, agriculture remained the economic mainstay of the community and continues to be a rich source of employment for its residents. Downtown Pompano came alive as farmers, brokers, railway agents and local residents congregated to make sure the crops got to market. However, as South Florida’s population began to grow, agricultural land in Pompano Beach was turned into housing developments and golf courses.

Tourism:
Golfers find living or vacationing in Pompano Beach a dream come true, with some of the world's most beautiful and challenging links just a short drive away.  It is said that a golfer could play a different course every day and still not tee off on all the links. Residents also have access to the beautiful Pompano Beach to enjoy lazy days. Pompano Park features year-round horse racing with many special events taking place as well. If boating is your idea of a great time, numerous marinas dot the Pompano Beach landscape. The Hillsboro Lighthouse can be easily spotted from Pompano's roadways and paths along 3.5 miles of golden beachfront, sounding a beacon for the millions of visitors every year that are drawn to the excitement and accessibility of one of Florida’s gems.
