Who is AMSA?

Established in 1936, the American Moving and Storage Association is a non profit trade association based out of Washington D.C. With more than 3,500 professional mover members, AMSA is dedicated to making your move successful every step of the way. AMSA moving company members are professional movers moving interstate household goods (between states). In addition, these companies may provide intrastate and local moving services as well as storage in a warehouse. AMSA represents all facets of the moving and the storage industry: van lines, agents, independent movers, forwarders, international movers, auto transporters, suppliers and others.

AMSA carefully screens its mover members, ensuring that consumers are matched to movers who have met all licensing and insurance requirements, and providing for arbitration of disputes between consumers and movers through its "Household Goods Dispute Settlement Program." One of AMS''s goals is a well-informed public that better understands the value of professional moving service.

The American Moving and Storage Association is a member-driven and offers a complete range of services to its members.

AMSA members transport between 1.3 and 1.5 million households each year.

Oceanside, California

What would you say to living in a city that was located on the Pacific Ocean? Not all that, but the area boasts a laid back atmosphere and is super close to two of the most metropolitan cities in the United States?  If this sounds like heaven on earth, it can be a reality for you in Oceanside, California. This coastal city with fabulous weather is only 35 miles from San Diego and 83 miles from Los Angeles. You can enjoy all the fun beach activities like fishing and surfing or just lazing on the beach any time of year. Oceanside has very affordable real estate options too. So what are you waiting for? It's time to get packing and relocate to Oceanside.

Economy:
Some of the companies that employ a large number of Oceanside residents are Tri-City Medical (the Tri-City area encompasses the cities of Oceanside, Vista and Carlsbad), the Oceanside school system and the city’s government. The largest grossing industries in Oceanside are tourism and the military sector. The country’s busiest military base, the Marine’s Camp Pendleton, is located there. The biotech company Genentech is also based in Oceanside. Many people believe that this company literally started the industry of biotechnology. The city government works hard to attract new companies by offering special incentives to companies who relocate or expand in Oceanside. It's no wonder why Oceanside moving companies are so busy.

Tourism:
There are many fun and affordable things to do in Oceanside. Of course you can spend your time walking and playing on the beautiful beaches for free. You might enjoy a visit to The Phantom Gallery which showcases artwork by local artists. There are many fun and unique exhibits at the California Surf Museum too. The Oceanside Pier is one of the longest wooden piers in the state of California.  There is an outdoor amphitheater - built in 1927 - where you can catch musical acts. Don’t forget to journey to the Oceanside Harbor where you can enjoy fresh local seafood, shop or simply take a walk on the beach. If you are looking for family fun, you won’t need to venture too far to get to the San Diego Zoo, Legoland amusement park or even Disneyland.

History:
Oceanside’s original land grant was 161 acres given to the city’s founder, Andrew Jackson Myers in 1883. The formal incorporation of Oceanside occurred on July 3rd, though the city was originally settled by Native American even before 1769 which was when Spaniards from Europe arrived.  Myers named the city because California residents loved to go to coast or “the ocean side” as the area was often referred. In the 1890s the city’s first large residential area was built in the downtown area. During World War II in 1942 Camp Pendleton came to be.
