Virginia to Louisiana
The packers were there to pass time and self-promote. They did an insufficient amount of packing such that we were responsible to pack the things they were supposed to. Claimed to have run out of boxes. I can give them high marks for packing lamp shades. The driver was surly, snippy, loud, had a very foul mouth and conducted himself in an unprofessional manner. The driver at some point removed some of our goods from the van and loaded them on to the tailgate and in that process a king size mattress was water damaged. As unpleasant as long distance moving can be this driver turned this into a bad experience. The co-driver/loader along with the local hired loaders were courteous, polite and respectful. The local company obviously has no control over the driver so I would not fault the local company.
