All That Glitters Ain't Gold
On the phone, the representative was kind and courteous. We decided to use All My Sons for storage and moving. After getting a list of our belongings, the rep said we should be able to put everything into a three storage bins. I asked him again and he assured me that we could. However, he neglected to tell me a few things about the move. First, he did not tell me that we would be required to pay for the second half of the move (from storage to our new home) at the beginning. He thought that the move would take three to four hours. It actually took them almost six hours to load the truck. So, we thought we would pay for four hours of moving, we actually had to pay for six hours, plus three hours for the second leg. Once our belongings arrived at storage, we were told that it took 6 bins to fit it. We budgeted for four since that was what the rep told us. Each bin was $55 a month. Finally, we were not informed that the moving company did not deliver items from their storage facility on Saturdays. We felt that the company was dishonest and not up front about costs and policies. This added stress to our move; we received possession of our home, but had no bed, furniture, tv or other appliances until the following Monday. This made it extremely inconvenient for my husband, our two year old son and our two month old daughter and me. If ever we use movers again, we will not use All My Sons.
