You Must Get Recommendations First
I originally received an estimate for $1,424. On the day of moving it was jacked up to $1,684, then they added $150 with a so-called moving cross country fee. The day of delivery the driver tells me it will cost me $250 more because he can not back up the truck directly to the door of the facility where my belongings were to be stored. Then the driver tells me it has to be in cash. The guy took $100 in cash as that was all I had on me, after I called their main office and complained that I was told there would be no additional charges. They argued with me stating that if I wanted my belongings I had better pay the driver. Where is the integrity? I would not recommend that you use this company. I was in situation where one company did not show up so I was forced to find another company within 48 hours. I am seeking legal representation for reimbursement of charges for $100 I gave them on delivery day.

Response from Moving On Up
We apologize for the inconveniences you have experienced during your
relocation. Upon notification of your complaint we immediately tried to contact you but were unsuccessful in doing so. We spoke with the driver that delivered your items and he informed us that there was a long carry fee of $250.00, but because of your situation and as a courtesy to you, he accepted the $100.00 you had available. Moving On Up was never informed of any dissatisfaction nor did we receive a complaint documenting said dissatisfaction. However, we understand that moving, whether across the street or across the country, brings massive amounts of stress and we would like to provide compensation in the amount of $100.00 to settle this matter. Please find that we have emailed our release form for compensation in the amount of $100.00 to, wcianci@aol.com. Once again, we thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our office at your earliest convenience at (954) 924-1522.
