Movers should not be Packers

The movers were very good. Nothing scraped, broken or left disassembled (yes, those things happened in previous moves). However, the packers left us frustrated. That may have been because we asked for things they were not used to, or it may have been a language barrier. I wish now they'd asked us to put special instructions in writing, and gotten a translator. They used dirty towels as packing material; yuck! They packed dirty dishes (yuckier yet), even though we asked them not to, so we had nothing to eat on that night. They stripped my teenage son's bed and left the college kids' beds alone, which was backwards of what I wanted. When we did a final walk-through after the truck left the old house, we found two closets and a bathroom drawer completely full, and two more closets with things left behind. It took two trips with the station wagon to get it all. I am blaming the packing crew leader for these oversights. He led the movers beautifully, but packing should have been assigned to someone else.
