Stressful
Oasis Movers hired a third party called Non-Stop Moving & Storage who charged me $150 for stairs and $269 for exceeding the estimate of 2821 lbs. Nowhere on the contract does it imply that there will be additional charges for stairs or if the estimated weight exceeds. Moreover, the sales rep. assured me that it would not cost any more than the original quote of $1436, but I ended up paying $1885.88. When the driver from Non-Stop arrived at our apt in New Orleans he immediately started talking about cost of stairs and was certain that we would exceed our estimated weight-which he confirmed two hours later from the weighing station. Since we had allocated funds for our move, it became very stressful as I had to figure out how to make arrangements for the additional charges. My numerous phone calls to the driver to clarify matters went unanswered. It seemed that this company did not care once they had received their deposit. Dealing with this company was stressful as they did not fully disclose their policy and practices.
