Communication and policies are questionable at best. Up to the point where I paid the deposit, people were more than happy to help me and assure me that delivery would be on a date that I requested. After the deposit was made, there was no communication at all upon numerous attempts to contact dispatch. Calls were not returned when promised.
Upon pick up, the foreman/driver was rude. He was disrespectful when it came to confirming the furniture to be taken and cost and other details of the move. It was not until my brother showed up that a more respectful tone was taken, but only towards my brother. The delivery date came and went without anyone from the company contacting me.
I had to initiate a call only to find out that delivery would not be occurring. Delivery finally did occur two and a half weeks after the promised date. We were told that we would be given 24 hours notice of delivery. The first drop off was given one hour. Once communication did happen, which again was initiated by me, the dispatcher insisted that company policy was the when there are two drop offs, that the full balance be paid at the first stop, not upon full delivery at the last stop.
This is not what I was told by the person I booked with initially, nor was it told to me by another operater, who she herself said that that didn't make sense. The dispatcher was rude and arrogant when an attempt to discuss the lack of common sense in this "policy."
When a request to speak to the owner was made, the response was, "He's not here so you'll just have to deal with me." Upon delivery, there was over $2000 in damage. To this point, there has been no communication to inquiries regarding how to file a formal complaint with the company and to receive reimbursement for these damages. No insurance options were offered upon booking. I do not recommend 1st Choice.
