Major Disappointment
The lady that answered the phone was very polite and made all the right statements and seemed knowledgeable to a novice like me. Four times I went through the items we were moving and 4 times she told me it would be fine. I asked her how could they get 3 storage units 25 feet long onto one truck 26 feet long -- I was told time and again not to worry. I should have known better.
The truck managed to get 1 and 1/4 of the 3 units loaded. The time estimate had been 5 hours for the whole job but it took 7 hours for the one truck. On Saturday after the men finished unloading, the manager called wanting the money due. I asked him about the rest of the items in the storage. He told me I should have ordered another truck and crew, as it was too much for just one truck. I told him about my conversation with his office staff.
He told me that it was my fault and I should have known better. He actually swore and he hung up on my wife. After 2 hours we offered to pay $1,000 for what was done. It cost us another $1200 to get the rest of the stuff up here.
