Don't Use Sterling Corporation (Billerica, MA) or National Van Lines

Do not use Sterling Corporation (Billerica, MA) or National Van Lines. First, they said the truck would show up at 9 am on 07/31/09. At non, there was no sign of the truck The truck finally showed up at 2:45 pm. The truck they sent was mostly full so they could only take what we would need immediatley. So they took all the kitchen and dining room chairs and took none of the tables. Took all of the Christmas dishes and fine china but none of the everyday dishes or silverware. They took all of the beds including a Tempurpedic foam mattress. I specifically instructed them the mattress had to lay flat per Tempurpedic instructions. The salesman confirmed that is how it should be shipped. The movers stood it on end for over 4 days resulting in cataostrophic failure of the viscoelastic material. The second groups of movers who showed up the next day were shocked at why the first set of movers took the stuff that they did. When the first truck arrived and they opened the door, one of the boxes fell out and hit the pavement breaking a handmade lamp. When the Tempurpedic mattress came in, it was clear it was ruined. It had a large foam creases and projections in the mattress To date (as of 08/07/09), the second truck had not arrived. Thus, half of our stuff, including the kitchen and dining room tables, is missing in action. I am told it is supposed to show up soon, but no definitive date or time has been provided. I did have replacement cost protection on the move, but the company (www.silva.com) does not seem to think that me having a usable mattress is all that important. I am currently exploring the option of initiating legal action against all parties to remedy the gross misconduct that has occurred. Do yourself a favor and do not use Sterling Corporation or North American Van Lines. Your stuff anf sanity will thank you. So, the rest of our stuff had to be loaded on the following day.

The packers were there to pass time and self-promote. They did an insufficient amount of packing such that we were responsible to pack the things they were supposed to. Claimed to have run out of boxe...
